Dirt Cake- A Desert Treat

A dirt cake is a fairly popular dessert treat.  It's popular for kids' parties.  The cake looks a lot like dirt.  Eating dirt is kind of funny.

Children who eat dirt but not dirt cake should be examined.  This could be due to mental retardation.  It's also dangerous.  Parasites could be in the dirt.  Lead poisoning can also come from eating dirt.  It's normal for children to eat a little bit of dirt.  However, some children eat far too much.  It could be caused by anemia.  Low iron in the blood is anemia.  In such a case a vitamin or supplement that contains iron will help the child kick the habit.

Dirt cake isn't baked.  It's primarily cookies and pudding, with a few other things added.  It can be served in a flower pot.  And it can be served with a small shovel to further carry out the pretend game of eating dirt.  It can even be topped with gummy worms or candy flowers.

There are dirt cake all over the world wide web.  Perform a Google search.  Over 420,000 sites result.  Many of the recipes contain the same ingredients.

Smash up some Oreo cookies for the dirt cake.  There is generally a layer of pudding, followed by a layer of cream, followed by a layer of cookie crumbs, followed by a layer of pudding, etc.  Add the last layer of cookies just before eating it.  Whoever invented it was a genius.

Any dieter will be cheating if they eat dirt cake.  Almost every ingredient is fattening.  It has about 1000 calories, 100 grams of carbs and 50 grams of fat.  People who are into reading labels will understand just how bad that is.

Dirt cake can fit in to a healthy well-balanced diet.  A taste is fine.  Or make sure everything else you eat is perfect.  Diets are a matter of longer term.  If your calories and nutrition are under control on a day to day basis, than once in awhile splurging isn't out of the question.

Dirt cake is delicious even though it's not nutritious.
