In the golden days of TV moms who stayed home all day vacuuming the house while wearing pearls, cooking special meals, and doling out wise advice to the kids when dad wasn't around, meals could

take all day and could involve intricate steps. Television was a lot like reality. But today lives are faster paced and full of more to do. Everyone's on the look out foreasy fast dinner recipes that give TV mom results without all the work. There were no web sites for the TV moms to check. Easy cooking is easy to find online with search engines like Yahoo and Google.

One steak can go a long way. Rotating the sides leads to a different meal experience each day. Change the spices to change the experience. A very big flank steak is the base. On Monday serve steak with roasted potatoes and a salad. Spices and some salsa make it Fajitas on Tuesday. On Wednesday make it Asian with some Teriyaki sauce, rice and vegetables. Add asparagus on Thursday and smash the potatoes. Go for Gyros on Friday with pita and Greek spices. A whole work day week of meals based on one main meat.

You want the steak to go even further? Pull out the plates we're going in. Try southwestern steak, corn, and black bean wraps; enjoy steak, sun-dried tomato, and mozzarella couscous salad; give mixed bean salad with flank steak a whirl; how about lentil and orzo salad with flank steak and feta cheese; and finally we have steak salad wraps with horseradish sauce . Double the variety with another meat. Pork can be a roast, or ribs, or chops. That's a lot of eating.

When meals are cooked on the weekends it takes only a few minutes to reheat and serve. Plan an entire menu for a month then buy all the necessities for some good savings too. Let the kids get involved. Give the children the chore for a week. Rotate days amongst the family.
